Bozhidara Boyadzhieva

  

Bozhidara Boyadzhieva is contemporary dancer, born 1993 in Bulgaria. In the last three years she studied “Contemporary Dance” and “Dance Pedagogy” in Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz (Austria). During her studies there she had the possibility to work with various choreographers, such as Eldad Ben Sasson, Annette Lopez Leal, Regina van Berkel, Alan Danielson, Jianan Qu. Her professional dance experience she collected while working in C.O.V./ Cie Off Verticality company (Rose Breuss), Tauschfühlung (Bianca Braunesberger) und in Musiktheater Linz. Since September 2015 Bozhidara is studying at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main, after receiving an Erasmus Plus Mobility Program scholarship. There she worked with Marguerite Donlon and Luc Dunberry.
At a young age Bozhidara started to have interest in the field of arts. The first seven years of her education she spent in National Cultural Educational Complex (Sofia, Bulgaria), where she studied Bulgarian Folklore Dance, Ballroom Dance and various other art forms. After she finished this school, she started developing her interest towards contemporary and modern dance, starting to take classes and perform in International Dance Center “Art-Academy” and later on in DERIDA Dance Center, both still in Sofia, Bulgaria. In DERIDA Dance Center she had the chance to work with Jivko Jeliazkov and other Bulgarian and foreign choreographers.
After graduating successfully a German language high school in Bulgaria, Bozhidara decided to move to Vienna (Austria), where she spent one year in Tanzquartier Wien, taking professional training and workshops with over thirty different teachers from all over the world, e.g. Milli Bitterli (A), Todd Williams (USA), Stephanie Cunning (CAN), Jozef Frucek and Linda Kapitanea (SK/GR), Keren Levi (IL), Matthew Smith (NZL), Martin Sonderkamp (D), Susan Klein (USA), Georg Blaschke (A), Susanne Bentley (B) and many others.
Since September 2012 she is a student of Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität Linz, studying simultaneously Contemporary Dance and Dance Pedagogy under the mentoring of Rose Breuss, Annette Lopez Leal, Johannes Randolf and Bruno Gently. Except being part of pieces from these teachers, Bozhidara worked also with Aneta Zwierzynska, Alan Danielson, Jason Adams Jacobs, Regina van Berkel, Jianan Qu and Eldad Ben Sasson. The last two years she was a dancer in C.O.V./ Cie Off Verticality company (company of the head of the dance department there). With this company she performed with four pieces at various festivals, most of them in Austria, once also in Slowakia. Since June 2013 Bozhidara is a dancer in the company of Bianca Anne Braunesberger “Tauschfühlung”. In 2014 Bozhidara becomes Vizechampion of Austria in contemporary dance solo adults and later this year she has third place in the same discipline at the European Championship. In August 2014 Bozhidara participated as a dancer in “EA” from Dolma Jover Agulló at the Contemporary dance Festival “Fronta” in Murska Sobota, Slovenia. At the end of this year she participated in collaboration with the musicians Zoia Sorel and Hassan Zanjirani Farahani, resulting in a dance duet “Thinking about…” performed in Linz. Bozhidara has a very strong interest in creating own things, that’s why the same year she created another solo piece “Seeds are invisible”. In 2014 and 2015 she is working also in the movement ensemble of Musiktheater Linz in the pieces : Tosca, Siegfried, Carmen, L’Amour de Loin, La Traviata (Robert Wilson). In 2015 she is also dancing in a production of Daniel Morales Perez and Ilja Van der Bosch in Bad Leonfelden.
In July 2015 she participated in two weeks Festival Detebre Dansa in Spain, taking workshops with Martin Kilvady, Rakesh Sukesh, Samuel Lefeuvre, Ben ‘Fury’, Laura Aris and Jorge Jauregui, Milan Tomasik, David Zambrano, Milan Herich, Peter Jasko and Tono Lachky.
In 2015 Bozhidara received an Erasmus Plus mobility program scholarship to study “Classical and Contemporary Dance” in Winter semester 2015/2016 in Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main. During her studies there she had the chance to work on pieces with Luc Dunberry and Marguerite Donlon. She performed in December 2015 “Time Out” from Valeria Liptschanski In Frankfurt Lab.
